Heyfield Transfer Station

The Heyfield Transfer Station, managed by the Wellington Shire Council, provides a central resource recovery and waste disposal solution for residents in the western district of the shire. Located on Rifle Range Road, this facility accepts a wide range of household and properties materials, including general landfill refuse, recyclables, automotive waste, and green waste.

To ensure accurate billing and processing, the site implements certain capacity restrictions; for instance, large concrete or brick loads exceeding two cubic metres are not accepted on-site and must be directed to a larger regional facility. Conveniently for users, the Heyfield site features up-to-date payment infrastructure, accepting card and EFTPOS transactions in addition to cash.

The facility operates on a structured schedule across four days of the week, opening from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesdays and Sundays, and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursdays and Saturdays. Like all waste facilities within the Wellington Shire, the Heyfield Transfer Station strictly adheres to regional safety protocols.
